If you are like ME right about now you have had enough of winter. (Although some snow so my kids can go sledding would be okay.) One more school cancellation or delay and I will scream! After a boat load of grey and/or cold days we start to feel weary of winter's charms.

Seeing what is new from the winter CHA (Craft and Hobby Convention and Trade show) always helps me beat those doldrums. Patterned paper is my not so secret fetish and I hoard it. New patterned paper EVEN better! I love drooling over all the new lines and products. My wallet on the other hand- not so much . I have learned the hard way to get a sampling of the latest and greatest from the winter releases. I would love to have ALL the new stuff but I am not a millionaire. LOL! Here is a sampling of my favorite product lines and their latest and greatest.

One thing I definitely love is all the coordinating papers and embellishments. it makes scrapping idiot proof. In my thinking less time to coordinate what goes with what equals more time to create.

Here are some of my favorite and links so you can peek.

BASIC GREY is one of my top favorites. They always have such yummy paper and embellishments! Click on products and the new lines will be on top. Wisteria and Lime Rickey very cool!

OCTOBER AFTERNOON is a great newer line of scrapbook products! They were not able to set up a booth at CHA but included new items on this link. (scroll down) The new lines they posted are super cute.

SCENIC ROUTE always makes me want to scrap! Looks like just one new line for now. Very pretty.

Looks like lots of girly themes- florals and pinks are big with the new releases. (Sorry for all you moms of boys) MY MIND"S EYE a perfect example of the girly trend. I have all boys but I want some of this!

BAZZIL has some new leaves, flowers , and embossed cardstock. I think Iwill need to see these before I make up my mind.

Not so sure whether I am crazy about CHATTERBOXES new items either. Here are 2 links. You tell me what you think!

Okay one more before I run out of drool!

COSMO CRICKET I can't wait to get my little hands on some of these new lines. And boy themes! Yeah!

Hope these have helped kick up your creative spark or at least kill the winter doldrums some. Sorry about your wallet and your money parting ways!

Winter Weather

It is kind of amazing how we are creatures of habit! I am so used to running our kids to school that it is weird to not have our normal routine. I run one to the bus stop for 1st grade and the second one to Pre-K every day. (Our 3rd child is on a school break till mid Feb) Then I run to pick up our middle child from Pre-K.

So far it has been an unusual week for us. Monday my kids were off for a teacher work day. Tuesday and Wednesday (today) school was closed for MD winter weather. Snow and then freezing rain. It has been cartoons , movies, sitting around in our jammies, and play play for my 3 boys. Hopefully all they have learned in school is not falling out of their heads.

We will see if tomorrow is a normal day of school and errands. I am guessing there is going to be a delay because of freezing rain. I am ready to get back to our normal schedule. I don't mind some extra sleep though. Sleeping in is not a luxury I get to partake in very often anymore.

Ribbon Flowers are the Neatest Embellishments

I don't know about you but I am always on the prowl for the latest and cutest scrapbook embellishments. I get so excited when I make a new find! Something new and fresh to add to my pages or albums is so much fun. A while ago I discovered these awesome scrapbook embellishments called ribbon flowers. An etsy friend had one of them on a mini album. I asked her where she got them. Thinking I am going to run out and get them at a local scrapbook store or from website . When I found out she made them I was all excited! It got even better when she sent me a link on HOW to make them. They are on this wonderful site with tutorials and tons of information! Here is a link for how you can make them to! I have had so much fun making them and using them on different projects.

Obama is in Bush is out

I am always thankful to live in the USA and don't take my God given freedom for granted but especially on a day like this. Our nation swore in a new President and no one was hurt or died. In so many nations this would be a time for bloodshed and strife. I am thankful to live in a country where I freely take my family to church and go to the store safely and securely.

On this day I have a feeling of sadness and hope as well. Sadness that our president of 8 years is done with his turn at running our nation. Although I did not vote for Obama I have hope that he will do a good job at running our Country and be a good leader. He is OUR President now and I respect that! Whatever your political affiliation President Obama needs our prayers as he takes over the BIG job of running our country.
