It is kind of amazing how we are creatures of habit! I am so used to running our kids to school that it is weird to not have our normal routine. I run one to the bus stop for 1st grade and the second one to Pre-K every day. (Our 3rd child is on a school break till mid Feb) Then I run to pick up our middle child from Pre-K.
So far it has been an unusual week for us. Monday my kids were off for a teacher work day. Tuesday and Wednesday (today) school was closed for MD winter weather. Snow and then freezing rain. It has been cartoons , movies, sitting around in our jammies, and play play for my 3 boys. Hopefully all they have learned in school is not falling out of their heads.
We will see if tomorrow is a normal day of school and errands. I am guessing there is going to be a delay because of freezing rain. I am ready to get back to our normal schedule. I don't mind some extra sleep though. Sleeping in is not a luxury I get to partake in very often anymore.

Ribbon Flowers are the Neatest Embellishments
I don't know about you but I am always on the prowl for the latest and cutest scrapbook embellishments. I get so excited when I make a new find! Something new and fresh to add to my pages or albums is so much fun. A while ago I discovered these awesome scrapbook embellishments called ribbon flowers. An etsy friend had one of them on a mini album. I asked her where she got them. Thinking I am going to run out and get them at a local scrapbook store or from website . When I found out she made them I was all excited! It got even better when she sent me a link on HOW to make them. They are on this wonderful site with tutorials and tons of information! Here is a link for how you can make them to! http://www.lisapace.com/2007/04/18/ribbon-flower-tutorial/ I have had so much fun making them and using them on different projects.

Obama is in Bush is out
I am always thankful to live in the USA and don't take my God given freedom for granted but especially on a day like this. Our nation swore in a new President and no one was hurt or died. In so many nations this would be a time for bloodshed and strife. I am thankful to live in a country where I freely take my family to church and go to the store safely and securely.
On this day I have a feeling of sadness and hope as well. Sadness that our president of 8 years is done with his turn at running our nation. Although I did not vote for Obama I have hope that he will do a good job at running our Country and be a good leader. He is OUR President now and I respect that! Whatever your political affiliation President Obama needs our prayers as he takes over the BIG job of running our country.
